What Is Pomade? | All About Pomades
So What is a pomade? Well, pomades are being used as men's hairstyling for a very long time. A Pomade has especially two main features.
> A Pomade Should provide a certain amount of shine (shine can vary) and,
> A Pomade should have the ability to slick your hair and make it really neat and tidy.
Today's post is all about pomades, their types, and how to apply them for the best results. Welcome to MR. VOLUMISED

Now Pomades can be divided into three main categories:
(1) OIL-BASED
(2) WATER-BASED
(3) UNORTHODOX WATER-BASED
The Unorthodox is like a new kid to the block.
1. OIL-BASED POMADES

> As for the oil-based pomades the main ingredient in it either is petroleum or caprolactam.
> They are the super slick like, some of the slickest hair products are the oil-based pomades.
> Also some of them are the strongest holding. They can range from light hold to very heavy hold.
> Oil-based pomades are very greasy in texture and provide a good amount of hold although they do harden in your hair which means you are allowed to restyle your hair whenever your want but as they are very slick and dense holding, your are not allowed to move your fingers freely into your and obviously you'll need a comb or a brush to restyle your hair whenever it is necessary.
> It is extremely difficult to wash these pomades out of your head as petroleum is not water-soluble so it becomes quite a bit of effort to remove these hair products out of your hair.
> Moreover if you have sensitive skin, oil-based pomades can activate acne breakouts. When you sleep at night on your pillow, the product applies on the pillow, and then like the pillow is again rubbed against your face so...You can understand what I am saying.
2. WATER-BASED POMADES

> Usually, water-based pomades are glorified gels.
> Unlike Oil-based pomades, Water-based pomades are washed out really easily in just one wash as they are water-soluble.
> Water-based pomades provide an all day long hold and they actually harden up in your hair making your hair strand lock into their position and it makes very difficult to reset your hair when a strand flip out of your head.
> The only way you are gonna able to restyle and get it back into its place is to get a comb/brush, wet it a little bit, and then run that through your hair and wait for it to dry again.
1. Layrite Super Hold Pomade
2. The DAIMON∙BARBER ORIGINAL POMADE

> This type of pomades provides the shine and slickness and also the are restylable.
∙ HOW TO USE POMADES?
> It is very easy to use pomades. Usually, Pomades are used for slick and formal hairstyles like slick back and pompadour.
1. First of all, Apply pre-styler and heat protectant to damp hair.
2. Now Start Blow-drying your hair according to your hairstyle.
3. Once blow-drying is completed, Take an adequate amount of pomade in your hand and distribute evenly on your hair. After that, take a comb/brush and start setting your hair the way you want. Make sure you make it very neat and tide.
