How to Gain Hair volume?  | Is Your Hair Lacking Volume?

Isn't your hair gaining volume??? Are you tired of hair that always falls down?? Are you jealous by seeing hair in photos of celebrities and Instagram models? Don't worry Guys, You are just not doing the right things while you style your hair. Volume is often time most overlooked aspect of the hairstyle, and often times plays the most important role in achieving great hairstyles. I am going to provide you some basic guidance on how you can get more volume and how it will transform the way you've always been styling your hair.

∙ THE HAIR TYPE

> Your hair type can be the biggest friend or the biggest enemy for achieving volume. Everyone is born with a certain hair type and there's very little you can do to change that. But it's the first thing to consider when it comes to adding volume to your hair.

> For thin texture, your hair should be short as thinner your hair is the shorten it needs to be in order to gain maximum volume. Finer hair folk typically don't have the luxury of natural volume due to the smaller diameter structure of the individual hair strands. For shorter hairstyles, you might be able to achieve some volume naturally, but once the hair gets to a medium or longer length you can forget bout it. Fineer hair types at these lengths will likely experience hair collapsing under its own weight, leaving your hairstyle looking flat and lifeless.

> On the other hand, Thick hair is your best friend. Thicker hair has a natural tendency to stick upon its own due to the structure of the hair strand - the diametre of the hair shaft is larger then finer hair which gives it stiffness and strength. This structure provides a natural lift and hinders the hair's ability to bend over and lay flat.

> Moreover your hair volume also depends on your hair length. If your hair is too long, then just for about the volume because when your hair is too long they are a bit heavier, and then your hair collapse due to their own weight. So make sure your hair is not too long, just 4-4.5 inches is enough.

∙ THE PRE-STYLERS

> Pre-stylers are the hair styling products that you apply to your hair before blow-drying in order to either protect your hair from heat damage or remove the frizziness which occurs in your hair just after the blow-drying or both.

> If you use a cream or wax, they can help you to get rid of frizziness but most of them neither provide you the exact volume you want nor the heat protection.

> I strictly recommend using HAIR MOUSSES because they are meant to provide you the perfect hair volume with some anti-gravity feeling as they make your hair strands a little bit light and your hair is like going up to the roof. Mousses are specially made to provide you a huge volume and some of them also provide you the heat protection. Take a sufficient amount and apply evenly on your hair before blow-drying. Mousses which I prefer are linked down below, go check them out!

∙ HAIR-BRUSH

> Hairbrushes play an important role in achieving good hair volume. Most of the hair stylers use round brushes or the vented brushes as they are specially made for you to gain hair volume.

> In terms of round brushes. The diameter of the brush decides the volume of your hair so if you want greater volume, look for one with greater diametre.

> The most basic method for achieving volume is to blow-dry your hair while pulling your hair upwards (away from the fringe) with the help of the brush at the same time.

∙ THE BLOW-DRYING

> Once you are done with the HAIR MOUSSE, the next part is blow-drying. Your hair volume mostly depends upon your blow-drying techniques. If you know how to perfectly blow-dry your hair in order to achieve maximum volume, then 70% of your work is done. First of all, choose a good blow-dryer which provides you a good amount of heat and air at the same time which is really necessary during the blow-drying part. Some are linked down below, check them out.

> As your hair dries it tends to stay in place naturally, and the force of the air movement will help "train" you go in the desired direction.

> A Quick Tip: Try to blow dry your hair in the opposite direction of that in which your hair tends to go naturally, this will maximize your hair volume.

> Once your hair is 60-70% dried. Switch to the comb/brush and pull your hair in an upward direction (away from the fringe) while blow-drying them at the same time. Continue the process until your hair is 90% Dry.

> After that blow-dry your hair upside-down while still pulling your hair away from the fringe with the help of a brush.

> At last blast your hair with cold air for at least 1 minute as this will help you to freeze and lock your hair at its place. And you are done with the blow-drying, I'm sure you are seeing the difference in your hair volume.

> ALWAYS USE A HEAT PROTECTANT BEFORE BLOW-DRYING YOUR HAIR

∙ POST-STYLING PRODUCT

> CLAYS

You can use clays for high hold in your volumized hair which will keep your hair at its place all day long, At the same time providing you a matt finish (no shine at all). Moreover, you can restyle your hair by moving your hands freely into your hair without any tug and pull.

> HAIR-SPRAYS

If you want some shine in your hair you can opt. for hair sprays. Hair-sprays provide a good shine in your hair along with super high unbreakable hold which will be in your hair for a long time. But you are not able to move your hand freely in your hair after applying hair-sprays

> TEXTURE-POWDER

Texture powders provide no hold at all but at the same time, they add a lot of texture to your hair. It looks really nice when your hair is very free and flowy with a lot of volume in it.
