So without any further due, let's go ahead and discuss everything in detail. Welcome to the MR. VOLUMISED.

∙ CAUSES OF DRY HAIR

So you might be thinking why your hair became dry? I made a list of all the important and most affecting factor that makes your hair dry. See them and figure out what are you doing wrong.

1. NUTRITIONAL DEFICIENCY: A variety of factors may cause brittle, frizzy, and dry hair. One of them is a lack of biotin. Biotin, also known as vitamin B7, helps the body convert food into energy. A deficiency in biotin is very rare, but when it occurs, dry, brittle, thinning, or splitting hair and nails are some of the most noticeable symptoms.

2. EXCESSIVE SUN EXPOSURE: It's not a bad idea to air dry hair in the sun, however, do it in moderation. If you feel your hair and it's burning hot, get out from the sun and into the shade. Prolonged heat exposure is not good for hair and it will damage your hair if you have too much of it.

3. CHLORINATED WATER: Short, occasional exposure to chlorinated water really won't damage your hair, but it might make it feel dry for a day or so. Regular exposure to chlorinated swimming pools can cause significant damage to your hair.

4. EXCESSIVE HAIR WASH: Dryfrizzy hair is another sign you're probably shampooing your hair too often. Washing your hair too often can also impact the texture of your hair. A total lack of moisture from stripping oils can also cause a dry, flaky scalp and as your scalp dries out so does your hair.

5. HOT STYLING TOOLS: Using hot styling tools like hairdryers, curlers, and hair straighteners more frequently can also be a reason behind your dry hair.

6. USE OF CHEAP AND BAD HAIR STYLING PRODUCTS, SHAMPOOS, CONDITIONERS, AND SERUMS: Believe me, there are a lot of hair styling products present in the market currently which are very harmful to your hair. The products you use might be one of them.

7. HAIR DYES AND BLEACH: Beaching causes your hair to become dry and sometimes it damages your hair a lot. Make sure you take care of your hair correctly after having such hair dyes and bleaching treatments.

8. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTOR:  extreme heat, cold winds, and low humidity can all take a toll on your hair. Reduce the risk of hair damage by wearing a hat over your hair on a beach day or avoiding prolonged exposure to the elements.

9. DISEASE AND DISORDERS:
In some cases, dry hair is the result of an underlying health problem that affects your hair’s ability to retain moisture. Examples include:

Anorexia nervosa: An eating disorder, anorexia nervosa can lead to malnutrition. It can cause dry and brittle hair, along with more serious complications.

Hypoparathyroidism: If you have hypoparathyroidism, the parathyroid gland in your neck produces too little parathyroid hormone, which decreases the level of calcium in your blood. Calcium is a key nutrient for healthy hair, as well as bones, teeth, and other tissue.

Hypothyroidism: With hypothyroidism, your thyroid glands don’t produce enough thyroid hormones. Dry and brittle hair is one of the early symptoms of this condition.

Menkes syndrome: If you have Menkes syndrome, a rare genetic condition, your cells don’t absorb enough copper. Low copper absorption affects the health of your hair, causing dryness.

∙ TREATMENTS FOR DRY HAIR TO MAKE THEM SOFT AND SHINY AGAIN

So we've talked about the causes of dry hair. Now you guys may be thinking how can you make your hair soft and shiny again? The answer is to follow the methods listed below for at least 8 weeks strictly and I'm guaranteed you will gain your precious hair back to normal.

1. GET A TRIM

Trimming your hair will allow your hair to get some space for more growth and also trimming your hair will remove all the split and damaged ends. This will make your hair grow faster and your hair will break less. Your old hair will be replaced by a new one.

2. TAKE SUPPLEMENTS

You know that you need certain vitamins to nourish your body, but certain vitamins directly impact the health of your hair and nails, too. Vitamin A, vitamin C, biotin (sometimes called vitamin H), and the mineral iron will all contribute to hair that looks healthier.

3. ADD OMEGA-3 AND ANTIOXIDANTS TO YOUR DIET

Omega-3 and antioxidants keep your hair from thinning out and can make hair look shinier. To get similar results without taking a supplement, increase the number of marine proteins in your diet.
OMEGA-3 SOURCES:
∙Fish and other seafood (especially cold-water fatty fish, such as salmon, mackerel, tuna, herring, and sardines)
∙Nuts and seeds (such as flaxseed, chia seeds, and walnuts)
∙Plant oils (such as flaxseed oil, soybean oil, and canola oil)
∙Fortified foods (such as certain brands of eggs, yogurt, juices, milk, and soy beverages)

4. AVOID WASHING YOUR DAILY

As discussed above, washing your hair daily causes your hair to become dry. Avoid this. I suggest washing your hair two times a week. This will allow your hair to rest after every wash to regenerate its natural essential oils.

5. NO HOT STYLING TOOLS

So as you all know, hot styling tools like hairdryers, curlers, and hair straighteners damage your hair extremely and make them weak. They are the reason for your dry hair. The best treatment is to avoid them for as long as you can. I suggest use them only when necessary (parties and occasions etc.) and for these 8 hair recovery months, do not touch them. Just hide them in your wardrobe.

6. COLD SHOWERS

Cold showers make your hair grow fast. After you shampoo and condition your hair in the shower, rinse your hair under a cooler temperature of water for a minute or two to revitalize strands and refresh your scalp.

7. ESSENTIAL OILS AND HEAD MASSAGE

Head massages are the most important treatment as your hair needs a lot of nutrients to repair. Warm the hair oil a little bit and massage your hair and scalp for almost 15-20 minutes. Good Hair Oils are:
∙ Coconut oil
∙ Argan oil
∙ Jojoba oil
∙ Almond oil
∙ Olive oil

8. NO HAIR PRODUCTS

Choose a good quality hair shampoo and conditioner that does not damage your hair. On the other hand, do not use any kind of hair styling products for these 8 recovery weeks as you don't want to put any chemical on your hair. After the recovery, use a nice hair styling product that does not damage your hair and do not use it daily. You have to use hair styling products occasionally.

9. USE SHOWER CAP

If you do swimming frequently, make sure you use a shower cap so that your hair stays protected from the chlorinated water that damages and makes your hair dry.

10. USE HEAT PROTECTANT AND STAY AWAY FROM SUNLIGHT

If you use hot styling tools occasionally, make sure you use a heat protectant so that your hair stays protected from heat. On the other hand, stay away from sunlight.

11. CONSULT A DOCTOR

If your hair is not repairing, you should definitely consult a good hair doctor. They can surely help you out.

So these were some tips from me for your dry hair, make sure you follow them for at least 8 weeks so that it could work. If I missed something, let me know in the comment section down below. See you everyone next time.
